Laveen Auto Works
Laveen Auto Works owner Miguel Castaneda always wanted to work for himself. He started planning for the future in his early 20s by purchasing equipment and tools that he would need for his future shop. In the mid-2000’s, he and his wife, Sonia, launched a car repair business from their home, offering exceptional service and affordable labor rates to neighbors and friends.
Since then, Laveen Auto Works has grown into a three-bay garage and brings in clients from Laveen, South Phoenix, Tolleson, and from around the Valley. Customers value the honesty and integrity of Miguel and the high quality of service he and his team provide.
Miguel draws on his experience from working in the service shops at major dealerships to provide exceptional auto repair serives on all makes and models of vehicles. He started his career as a lube tech and worked his way up as a mechanic. He holds multiple training certificates in brakes, engine repair, manual transmissions, drive trains, ABS diagnosis and electrical repair. In 2022, when Arizona and the nation experienced a massive explosion in the thefts of catalytic converters, Miguel started offering fabrication and welding to build anti-theft devices for catalytic converters.
As a family-owned business, he said the most important component is “the relationships I build with my customers. I have customers where I have worked on the entire family’s vehicles,” Miguel says. “The customer relationship is important to me because that’s how my business has grown—by word of mouth.”
As a long-time resident of Laveen, Castaneda also is active in his community. He has coached local sports teams and been an active member of the local business community.
