Laveen Auto Works
Owner Miguel Castaneda always wanted to work for himself. He started planning for the future in his early 20’s by purchasing equipment and tools that he would need for his future shop. In the mid-2000’s, he and his wife, Sonia, decided to launch the business from home, offering exceptional service and affordable labor rates.
Castaneda draws on his experience from working in the service shops at major dealerships. He started as a lube tech and worked his way up, obtaining multiple certificates and training in brakes, engine repair, manual transmissions, drive trains, ABS diagnosis and electrical repair.
As a family-owned business, he said the most important component is “the relationships I build with my customers. I have customers where I have worked on the entire family’s vehicles,” Castaneda says. “The customer relationship is important to me because that’s how my business has grown — by word of mouth.”
As a long-time resident of Laveen, Castaneda also is active in his community. He has coached softball and T-ball for both his daughters in local youth leagues, and he is a member of the Laveen Business Network.
